Hello
A Bit About Me
My musical journey started as far back as I can remember. From an elementary age, my mother introduced me to music by her company called Kindermusic. There, preschool children would learn about music by learning instruments and playing games. Entering elementary school, I began to take piano lessons through a neighborhood piano teacher. She saw promise in me and encouraged me to continue with music, so I did.
I began percussion in middle school. There I was introduced to classical and marching band percussion. I started to make friends and my interest in percussion grew. In high school, I continued and joined the marching band and became a part of the first prestigious percussion ensemble I ever played in Under Dan McGuire.
High school was a lifechanging period in my musical journey. I truly fell in love with the activity of percussion, and it would become the highlight of my high school experience. I will always be grateful to have been a part of such an amazing organization where I learned so much, had once in a lifetime experiences, and grew tremendously as a percussionist and individual.
One of the greatest performance experiences I ever had to date was our 2017 PASIC performance for The Call for Tapes where high school percussion ensembles enter from all around the world, and only two are selected to perform at PASIC (the largest percussion conference in the world). High school remains one of the best percussion ensemble experiences I have had. The following and my senior year, our ensemble performed and recorded three pieces to enter to play at the Midwest Band and Orchestra conference and ended up being selected to perform there the following year. It felt amazing to be a part of those recordings that would send my peers to have an amazing performance at Midwest.
As well as percussion ensemble, I grew as a solo performer playing a variety of percussion instruments with a focus on Marimba. By harnessing my marimba skills, I was able to obtain the Tennessee State Marimba Soloist Champion.
In college, I attended Western Carolina University where I studied Commercial Music and Audio Production. I auditioned for the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band and earned a snare drum spot in our second drumline the Purple Drumline. The next and following two years, I earned a place as a snare drummer in the Gold drumline and performed for half time shows at home games and at several trips every fall. The biggest trip being our performance in 2020’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
I also continued my percussion studies under Dr. Adam Groh. I had many amazing percussion ensemble performances throughout my time in the percussion studio. I also continued my growth as a solo musician through my private lessons that culminated to my junior recital.
In my commercial music and audio production studies, I’ve worked on a number ofprojects. Some of these include live sound on a film set, various electronic and orchestral compositions, mixing and mastering recording sessions, an original film score, and engineering a recording session for a local band.
